Socceroos in new pay twist

As devoted supporters of the Socceroos, Perico band members and blog reporters will be out in force on Thursday night to cheer the boys onto victory.

However, Perico Blog reporter, Uruguayan-sympathiser and MCG boozer, Damo Wilding, reports that he'll be protesting against the Aussies by supporting Greece on Thursday.

Damonopolous Wildingaki, as he now calls himself, says he intends to start drinking shortly after 4.30pm and continue on "til the Brunswick closes and kicks me out..."

"I'll also be putting down a late night souvlaki, for sure" he told Perico.
"and that'll be on top of my ouzo layer."

"And I'll be wearing a toga and carrying a greek urn."

That naturally prompted perico drummer Col to ask him "What's a Greek urn?"

"Oh, about half that of those overpriced soceroos players!"he told him.
