Miners Listen to Perico

Brunswick superstar rockers Perico, have moved quickly to correct alleged claims that the freed Beaconsfield miners, Todd Russell and Brant Webb, had been listening to their band on the ipods they were given.

"It's a bit of a misunderstanding." explained Perico sex-symbol and drummer Col.

"What we meant to say was that minors were listening to Perico, referring to the age of some of our fans. We never mentioned the Beaconsfield miners at all. Perico would never intentionally try to mislead the public.

"And anyway, there's far more appropriate songs they should have been given; such as The Jam's Going Underground or that REM song that starts with 'the world is collapsing'.

Perico would also like to quash further rumours that Channel 9 boss Big Eddie had offered them an exclusive deal (that sources estimate to be a one figure sum) for rights to Perico's music for use in channel 9's promo materials.
On behalf of Perico, management are qouted as saying, "Perico would never agree to such an offer - that would be an extrordinary 'sell out'. Now, two figures...that's a different ball game..."
